Extended Reality Simulations Developer

CCSVP | August 2024 - January 2025

At the Center for Crime Science and Violence Prevention (CCSVP), I create training simulations for Illinois law enforcement and medical personnel.

Locations of interest are scanned and recreated in 3D for the simulations. The simulations are being designed to train and prepare professionals for active shooter scenarios, as well as improve understanding of situational behaviors through means of biometric data collection.

Key Achievements

  • Engineered simulations utilizing Meta's SDKs for Quest 3, enabling Illinois law enforcement and medical professionals to hone response techniques in high-risk scenarios; facilitate upskilling through immersive XR technology.
  • Oversaw primary asset pipeline, executing end-to-end integration of enterprise software tools to optimize, register, and clean LiDAR point-clouds, ensuring high-fidelity 3D environments in Unity; reduced data-processing time by 25% and elevated the overall realism and accuracy of the simulations.
  • Authored cross-functional documentation covering each stage of development from Leica BLK360 data acquisition to C# scripting, expediting knowledge transfer and on-boarding; enabled smooth handovers and improved project scalability for future iterations.
